Norwegian singer/songwriter Haakon Ellingsen (When, The Last James) is is back with his first album in his native tongue. After the critically acclaimed albums Bounty and The Plum Album, he returns with what is without a doubt his best yet. Combining sunny folk rock with baroque pop arrangements with strings and harpsichords in the proud tradition of The Left Banke and The Beatles, a dash of prog and even a bit of 70's rock swagger a la Led Zeppelin, this album encompasses everything we at Termo like about music.
The album iscalled "Orkaner og fuglesang", which translates into "Hurricanes and birdsongs", and features a stellar cast of musicians including producer/keyboardist/drummer Lars Fredrik Frøislie (Wobbler, Tusmørke, White Willow), flautist/arranger Ketil Einarsen (White Willow, Kaukasus, Jaga Jazzist), Wobbler vocalist Andreas Vilthagen on backing vocals, Gosta Berling's Saga guitarist Einar Baldursson, bassist Jacob Holm-Lupo (White Willow, The Opium Cartel) and the talented Hanna Furuseth on strings, to mention a few.
